Birds pollinate 80% of crops and help improve air quality for billions of people. While wind turbines power millions of homes around the world with clean energy, they also threaten this natural balance. With 1 in 12 birds colliding with turbines annually, rising fatalities were putting many wind farm projects on hold.

solution:

Spoor and FP7 McCann built the first scalable AI system designed to detect birds and prevent turbine collisions.

To spark global conversation around the issue and encourage decision-makers to adopt the technology, we created a digital platform featuring a website, a book, and an Instagram account dedicated to bird monitoring: @spoorbirdwatcher
